The Better Business Bureau’s (BBB) is a private, nonprofit organization with a goal of “helping people find businesses, brands, and charities they can trust”. Millions of consumers uses the BBB to find and connect to businesses that uphold their standards.
Every year, the Annual Chicago Better Business Bureau Torch Awards celebration acknowledges local organizations that embody the ethical business practices and tenets of trust. This award is only given to six to ten businesses each year from a field of over a hundred fully completed and vetted entries. The Torch Award spotlights companies that exemplify marketplace trust and excellence. The Torch Award honors businesses that demonstrate the highest degree of honesty and integrity. Awards are granted based on four criteria: character, culture, customers, and community. Receiving this award shows that a business embraces the high standards promoted by the BBB and consistently embodies those standards in its daily operations.
