Door-to-Door Car Shipping

The car shipping service is a convenient way to get your vehicle from point A to point B in a simple, straightforward manner. Our mover will pick up and deliver your vehicle as close to the desired locations as possible. It is important to note, that some streets and residential communities have restrictions on oversized vehicles and semi-trucks.

Overhead clearances and large turning radii are other factors to keep in mind. We will coordinate the shipping process with you in order to iron out any potential limitations or difficulties.

Vehicle Transport Options

We offer two main types of vehicle transport to fit different needs and preferences:

Open Carrier Transport – This option is cost-effective and reliable, using open-air trailers that can carry several vehicles at once. It’s a practical choice for standard cars and shorter-distance moves.
Enclosed Carrier Transport – For vehicles that need extra protection, enclosed transport moves your car inside a fully covered trailer. This shields it from weather, road debris, and other hazards, making it ideal for luxury, classic, or high-value vehicles.

Auto Transportation Services in Chicago

No matter the size of your vehicle or the distance it needs to travel, we have the right equipment to get it to your destination. Planning the move carefully is important to make sure all your needs are met. Some factors we consider include:

The size of your vehicle
Your pickup and delivery locations
Budget considerations
Whether you prefer open or enclosed transport
How low your vehicle sits to the ground

These details help our movers determine the best type of trailer or truck for your vehicle. For particularly valuable cars, we recommend enclosed transport, which provides extra protection from the elements during transit

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to transport a vehicle?

Scheduling your vehicle transport correctly makes a big difference. For moves within Chicago or nearby suburbs, your car or SUV can usually be picked up and delivered in just a few hours. For longer trips, like moving a vehicle out of state, the process typically takes 1 to 5 days depending on distance, route, and timing.

Can you transport specialty vehicles?

We move all kinds of vehicles including cars, motorcycles, RVs, Vans, trucks, boats and even snowmobiles. Every vehicle is carefully loaded and secured using the proper equipment to keep it safe during transport. Whether it’s your everyday car, a classic collectible, or a recreational vehicle, our team treats it with care and attention so it arrives at its destination just as you expect.

What Is the Average Cost to Transport a Vehicle?

The cost to transport a vehicle depends on several factors, including distance, vehicle type, transport method (open or enclosed), and pickup/drop-off locations. For local moves within Chicago or nearby suburbs, the price is usually lower and can often be calculated quickly. Long-distance or out-of-state moves, as well as specialty vehicles like RVs, boats, or classic cars, can cost more due to extra handling and equipment.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Absolutely highly recommend Midwest Moving & Storage! Eric in the office was incredibly reliable and timely with replies, very kind and understanding too! They helped with a last minute move I had to make and made the whole process easy and hands off. They arrived to my apt at 9:15am and were completely done by 11:30. Im also currently storing items at their facility as well. Made the whole process of moving way less stressful!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a really positive experience with Mid West Moving & Storage. Moving from Chicago to Glen Ellyn with a baby under one year old meant we had a lot more than just furniture to think about, and the crew made the entire process feel manageable.

They were especially careful with our daughter’s furniture, crib, and belongings, along with several delicate and specialty pieces throughout the house. Everything was wrapped and protected thoroughly, and nothing felt rushed. You could tell they cared about getting our belongings to our new home safely, not just getting the job done quickly.

The team was professional, patient, and careful from beginning to end. We would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them to other families.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mid-west moving has an amazing team of hard workers! Shak and his crew Gary, Nasaa, Battugs and Enkherdene barely even stopped when taking a break in 90 plus degree weather all day! I was sweating, just watching them work. We have moved many of times and this unpack was definitely one of the fastest, cleanest and most courteous of them all. That was 100% due to the team. Even when they ran into mechanical issues with the truck the operations coordinator, Dan was on top of it and very infomative. And Shak called with a 30 minute eta as soon as the truck was back on the road. I can't speak any more highly regarding this team of workers and their professionalism. My house is back to normal and not a mess of boxes! Unfortunately, some of our items did arrive broken, damanged or missing. However, this is the struggle with moving and cannot be attributed to them. There was an entirely different company who packed and loaded at our previous residence. And that they have a claims process to replace these things. If you are thinking about moving and choose Mid-west, using the Shak team!
