The Schaumburg Business Association (SBA) is an organization that aims to improve the quality of life and economic vitality of the Schaumburg Area. It represents more than 700+ businesses and over 4000+ members from all major industries and connects members to each other and to the community, serving as the primary advocate for businesses in the region. They embody the spirit of our business community by providing outstanding programs and services so their members can grow and prosper.
The SBA hosts the Toast of Schaumburg every year to celebrate the business community and recognize the members of the committee that made great contributions to the organization. The Brian H. Burke Business of the Year Award, given annually at the Toast of Schaumburg, is the most prestigious award presented. It recognizes and honors a member business that has exemplified five pillars of the association during its tenure with SBA: Relationships, Economic Development, Business Resources, Advocacy and Community. The award is sought after by many members but starts with a nomination by fellow association members. This year, the SBA has recognized Mid-West Moving & Storage (MWM) as the Brian H. Burke Business of the Year Award recipient for 2022.
Mid-West Moving & Storage has been a committed member of the SBA for many years. We returned to the association in 2017 after a brief absence and quickly got re-engaged and very involved. We can still recall moving the SBA into their still current location in 2007 as a member back then. Today, Mid-West Moving & Storage gives back to the association with volunteer positions, donating moving services, supporting many of the events in sponsorships and committee volunteerism, as well as supporting so many of the members in multiple other ways.

Kari-Ann Ryan is a dynamic marketing strategist with a proven track record in brand development, corporate visibility, and business growth. As the Director of Marketing & Development for Mid-West Moving & Storage and Chicago Office Movers, she leads all branding, marketing, and business development initiatives, driving awareness and engagement across multiple industries.
With extensive experience in multi-brand marketing, nonprofit fundraising, event planning, and retail management, Kari-Ann brings a comprehensive and results-driven approach to her role. She is a dedicated leader in the business community, actively involved in the Schaumburg Business Association and the GOA Regional Business Association. She also serves as a Board Member for the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter, reinforcing her commitment to advocacy and philanthropy.
In addition to her corporate role, Kari-Ann is the founder of LMJ’s Lost Souls – Alzheimer’s Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to awareness, education, and fundraising for Alzheimer’s research and support.
She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Western Michigan University and is Certified in Constant Contact Email Marketing, with expertise in social media strategy and digital engagement.
